A
little history.
In 1933, Congress modified existing Farm Credit legislation to allow farmers
to charter Production Credit Associations (PCAs). Eastern Idaho Production
Credit Association was one of the first such cooperative associations,
opening our doors for business in 1934.
In 1991, we became Eastern Idaho Agricultural Credit Association so we
could make production and real estate loans.
In January
2000, we rang in the new millennium with our new name Idaho Agricultural
Credit Association, which more accurately reflects our growing lending
area. Although our name changed twice, our staff, management and member/ownership
have remained the same, free of any "corporate takeover/merger."
Through the years, our strength has been our active and supportive member/borrowers
and our staff. You can be certain that your loan officers and management
at Idaho Ag Credit have personal experience in production agriculture.
Most grew up on Idaho or Utah farms and ranches, and several continued
in their family business either before and sometimes while
working for us.
What is a "cooperative"?
When you become an Idaho Ag Credit borrower, you become a member of a
financial cooperative with stockholder voting rights. Any profits that
we earn are returned to you through reduced-cost services and lower interest
rates. Our board of directors is local, (some members are probably your
neighbors) and you have a strong voice in the services we provide to you.
Key
Benefit: Lower overall fee and interest costs mean you have more
dollars left in your pocket when you sell your crop.
